ERMOUPOLI CITY GUIDE
The City bus : there are 3 itineraries in Ermoupoli. One is going from the Doxa Parking, to the Sport Center (blue line). A second goes to Vrontado, you can take it near the Nike statue on the port and drop off in Papandreou Andrea, in front the parking. The third one leads to Ano Syros, drop on is at the same place than the previous and the drop off is at Agio Georgiou. All the nearest stop are in blue on the map. In our street, there’s a stop of the Vrontado line getting to the center, but you need to know that there isn’t a lot and going to the city center is only 10-15 minutes walking.

1 : Sport Center stop bus ; 2 : Hospital ; 3 : KTEL bus station ; 4 : Taxi station ; 8 : Police Department.
5 : Miaouli Square ; 6 : Apollo Theater ; 7 : Agio Nicolaos Church ; 9 : Ano Syros ; 10 : Anastasia Church.
On the map above, you will also find the closest bakery and supermarket : AB, 5 minutes walking from the house in the harbour direction. A bigger one is at 15 minutes walking.
The closest beach in Ermoupoli is a plateform beach called Vaporia Beach. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a nice swim beacause it takes less than 20 minutes walking to get there.

Blue Bergamote is located equidistant from the city center and Ano Syros. The best way to visit it is to catch a cab to get there easily (5-7€) and to come back walking. It’s only 15 minutes walking.

GETTING AROUND THE ISLAND
If you want to visit the island, the KTEL buses are really reliable. You can find the updated itinerary here. Mainly, it goes from the south to the north and the opposite : Azolimnos beach is at only 15 minutes by bus, Kini is 20. This is the itinerary from the south to the north : Azolimnos, Vari, Mega Gialos, Posidonia, Finikas, Galissas and Kini. The price of the ticket may vary but it’s around 2 or 3€, depends on where you want to go.

If you want to explore more the island, especiallly the north part, you need to rent a car. We highly recommand Maistrali Car Rental. They have an office on the harbour and at the airport. They are really reliable, cars are in perfect condition and most of them are hybrid. BONUS : ask us for a special discount code 😉
